Algorithmic

Is the word that just came to mind right a few minutes ago.  For why although I may have strong opinions about many things, I have trouble participating in discussions about, say, is oppression olympics a valid concept because after all some groups genuinely are more oppressed than others. (Also I get very tired of seeing/being attacked over “we as a group have problems in the larger society, can we talk about those problems among ourselves” and people running in to scream “You’re claiming to be oppressed!”)

People seem to think they can build some… thing.  In their heads.

That will diagram exactly where a person stands in terms of oppression and privilege, 100% of the time.

The problem is that this just isn’t the way the world works.  The world cannot be predicted so precisely.

I keep making the mistake of thinking I can get into it a little, with disclaimers that I can’t keep up “perfect” language all the time.  Then it kicks me in the brain and I go flying back out.  Sooner or later I’m just going to have to stop this, and stop thinking the only way I can be a “good activist” is to try to keep things like this in my head.

Yeah I think I actually did jump into that discussion thinking I could handle it just like you said. When it doesn’t...
